The Head of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde says she believes Italy and Greece have both made significant progress towards the political stability and clear economic policy that the IMF and international markets want to see. Mrs Lagarde was speaking after talks in Japan as leaders from the Asia-Pacific region prepare to meet in Hawaii to discuss how to protect themselves from the economic difficulties engulfing Europe.
