Profile: India's hope in Judo-Susheela Devi

With 31 days remaining for the start of the Tokyo Olympics, All India Radio brings a special series on India's medal prospects at the sporting extravaganza. Today we will talk about India's hope in the Judo Susheela Devi.

Judo was first included in the Summer Olympic Games at the 1964 Games in Tokyo, Japan. Women judoka were first awarded medals at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Susheela from Manipur is the first Indian woman who qualified for Olympics in the 48 kg category.
 
In an exclusive interview with AIR news, Susheela expressed her reaction after Olympic qualification. The Government of India's TOPS scheme supported Susheela in her preparation.

Presently, Susheela is in France for her final training before the Olympics.

The entire country comes together in wishing that Susheela makes a giant leap to the top of the podium at the Tokyo Olympics.
