The Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles Vijoy Kumar Singh has said that the Production linked incentive scheme for textiles is poised to make India's position strong in textiles trade. Addressing the media in Chennai, he said that the scheme will positively impact states including Tamilnadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, UP, Punjab, Andhra and Telangana. The Secretary informed that the Minimum production in India is expected to be around Rs. 37 lakh crore over five years and minimum expected employment over five years is nearly one crore.&nbsp;<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Additional Secretary said that the Government has also launched a National Technical Textiles Mission for promoting research and development activities in the sector to attract more investment. It is estimated that over the period of five years, the scheme for textiles will lead to fresh investment of more than 19 thousand crore cumulative turnover of over Rs. 3 lakh crore will be achieved under this scheme, and will create additional employment opportunities of more than 7.5 lakh jobs in this sector and several lakhs more for supporting activities .&nbsp;</span><br />
