The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, TRAI today said that processing fee levied on top-up vouchers should not exceed 10 per cent of maximum retail price of coupon or 3 rupees whichever is less. The move will provide relief to prepaid users recharging with lower denomination top-up vouchers. TRAI in its Telecommunication Tariff Order, said that at present, processing fee charged for top-up of 20 rupees and above is 3 rupees while for top-ups below 20, is 2 rupees. It has undertaken a review through a consultation process and has decided to rationalise the structure of the processing fee.
