Process to identify persons abusing girl student on social media is on: Police

The Delhi Police today said, the process to identify the persons who abused the Delhi University girl student on social media is currently on. Briefing reporters, Joint Commissioner of Police Dependra Pathak said, the police has registered an FIR in connection with the rape threat to a student. <br/><br/>The Delhi Commission for Women had yesterday written to the Police demanding registration of an FIR and action against the guilty. <br/><br/>Mr Pathak also said, adequate arrangement of police will be in place round the clock to prevent any untoward incident at the University campus. He said, today's protest in campus remained peaceful because of proper security arrangements.<br/> <br/>The girl, who is daughter of a Kargil martyr, had moved to the Commission alleging that she was being threatened with rape after her social media posts against the ABVP.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the Delhi university student pulled out of the protest march against ABVP, requesting to be left alone. She has since left for Jalandhar to be with her family. In a series of tweets, the Lady Shri Ram College student announced her decision saying she has been through a lot.
