Probe to be initiated into private airline emergency landing: Govt

The government today said, a full-fledged enquiry will be initiated to look into the reports that a private airline, which was on its way to Kolkata from Patna last night was not given immediate permission for emergency landing as it was running short of fuel. <br/><br/>The issue was raised by entire opposition demanding a thorough enquiry into the incident. Derek O'brien of Trinamool Congress accused the government of purposefully denying permission as West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerji was on board the flight.<br/><br/>He was supported by other opposition parties including Congress, Samajwadi Party, BSP, JD(U) and Left parties. Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha assured the members that Director General Civil Aviation will conduct the probe.
