Pro-democracy activists gather at Tahrir Square to celebrate Mubarak’s ouster

In Egypt, a large number of pro-democracy activists have gathered at historical Tahrir Square in Cairo to celebrate the victory after overthrow of President Hosni Mubarak's 30-year rule. The Higher Military Council is under pressure from activists demanding the release of political prisoners, the lifting of emergency rule and fair elections.Meanwhile three former ministers of Mubarak government have been arrested. Security officials said that these are Former Interior Minister Habib el-Adly , former Housing Minister Ahmed Maghrabi and ex-Tourism Minister Zuheir Garana. Authorities also arrested steel tycoon Ahmed Ezz who was a prominent member of Mubarak's ruling National Democratic Party.Life in Egypt is still far from normal as tanks on the streets, banks closed, workers on strike and schools shut.
