Indira Priyadarshini Vrishamitra Awards for outstanding work by individuals, government and non-governmental organizations and panchayats were presented at a function in New Delhi today. A .T. Mishra of Indian Forest Service received the award in the individual category besides Forestry extension wing of Tamil Nadu Forest Department. Awards were also given in other categories. Special secretary in the Ministry of Environment P J Dilip Kumar said that another ten million hectare land will be under forest cover in the next ten years in the country.
