The Nargis Dutt Charitable Trust chairman and MP, Priya Dutt has said that she would raise in the Parliament the issue of spreading of Cancer in Punjab due to polluted waters. Aware of the spread of Cancer in the Malwa region of the state, she however said that she is shocked to know that even parts of Doaba is also coming under its grip due to mixing of industrial and sewer effluent in Kala Sanghian, a natural water drain. Priya Dutt, who was in Jalandhar to inaugurate dual CT scan centre at Guru Nanak Mission Hospital, has offered support through the Nargis Dutt Cancer Foundation, to the local NGOs working to check pollution in natural water resources and assisting cancer patients in getting treatment.
