Privilege motion moved against Chautala

In Haryana assembly, ruling party today moved privilege motion against leader of opposition Om Parkash Chautala (INLD) for 'misleading the House by making a false statement during a speech in the discussion on budget yesterday Speaker Harmohinder Singh Chatha admitted the privilege motion moved by Congress MLA Kuldeep Sharma who contended that Mr Chautala had made a false statement on the floor of the house by claiming that the government had imposed VAT on salt during his speech on the budget yesterday.<br/><br/>Mr Sharma said that Mr Chautala had made the statement 'wilfully and deliberately which is contempt of House and breach of privilege. When motion moved, the INLD members staged a walk out from the House. <br/><br/>The motion was admitted by a voice vote and the speaker decided to refer the matter to a privileges committee. The committee had been asked to give a report by the first week of next session.
