Privilege motion by Congress against HRD Minister an attempt to run away from Chidambaram's comment on Afzal Guru, says BJP

BJP has termed Congress decision to bring privilege motion against Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani in Parliament as an attempt to run away from P Chidambaram's comment on Afzal Guru and Rahul Gandhi's stand on JNU row. <br/><br/>The ruling party said there is sharp reaction among the people over Mr. Chidambaram's remarks that there were doubts about the extent of Afzal's involvement in Parliament attack and Mr. Gandhi's alleged support to anti-national slogans in JNU. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, BJP spokesperson M J Akbar alleged that Congress is playing politics over the suicide of Rohit Vemula to gain lost ground. Mr. Akabr said the Minister's comments in Parliament on the suicide incident were based on police report. <br/><br/>The BJP leader claimed that the proctorial board and executive council which had taken decision to suspend the students including Vimula was set up during UPA rule, but Congress is hiding this truth. He alleged that the opposition party intends to waste the Parliament time by raising the issue on wrong facts. <br/><br/>The opposition parties have decided to bring privilege motion against Mrs Irani over her remarks on the suicide alleging that the Minister had misled Parliament.
