Privilege Motion against Kumaraswamy in Karnataka Legislative Assembly today

Privilege Motion was moved against Member of Parliament H D Kumaraswamy in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly today. The BJP MLAs Suresh Gowda, Nandish Reddy, M P Kumaraswamy and Siddu Savadi moved the motion against former Chief Minister and JD(S) State President Kumaraswamy against his alleged comments about the way the Assembly House is transacting business. The Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister in the state Suresh Kumar requested the speaker K G Boppaiah to forward the same to Lok Sabha Speaker for necessary action. Meanwhile, pandemonium continued to disrupt the Assembly led by the leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah. The entire Opposition demonstrated in the well of the House. He charged that the Speaker is acting in a biased manner and walked out of the House when the Speaker did not heed to his words and continued to allow tabling of the bills. The House transacted business in the absence of the Opposition members. Speaking to the media persons later, Siddaramaiah sought the resignation of Chief Minister Yeddyurappa and a CBI probe against the corruption charges against him and his cabinet members. Siddaramaiah objected to themanner in which the government went ahead seeking approval of seven bills without any discussion. The Mid Term Review of State Finance and second installment of supplementary estimates were also tabled in the House today. Janata Dal(S) members tried to enter the House with placards and a suitcase filled with documents. But the Marshalls prevented them from entering the House.
