Private FM e-auction: I & B Ministry receives 264 crore rupees in Bid Deposits

Information and Broadcasting Ministry has said that it has received around 264 crore rupees in Bid Deposits from successful bidders of e-auction of the first batch of private FM radio Phase-III channels. <br/><br/>An official release said, the ministry had notified the list of successful bidders of the first batch on 16th of this month, comprising details of 14 successful bidders for 91 channels in 54 cities along with winning prices and selected frequency spots. <br/><br/>The successful bidders will now have to pay the balance amount within 15 calendar days of the notification, that is, by 1st of next month.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that e-auction of the first batch of FM phase III comprising 135 channels in 69 cities, got over on 9th of this month. Government had received bids worth 1,156 crore rupees for 97 channels in the e-auction. <br/><br/>
