Supreme Court has voiced concern over the possible misuse of personal information in public domain. It said, the protection of the concept of privacy in the technological era was a losing battle.<br/><br/>A nine-judge Constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice JS Khehar, heard marathon arguments for six days over a period of three weeks. The bench has reserved its verdict on the issue whether right to privacy can be held as a fundamental right under the Constitution.<br/><br/>The judgment will be delivered on or before 27th of August as Chief Justice Khehar, who presided over the bench, will demit the office on that day.<br/><br/>The bench favoured overarching guidelines to protect private information in public domain. It said there is a need to maintain the core of privacy as the notion of privacy is fast becoming irrelevant in an all-pervading technological era.
