Former Union Science and Technology Minister Prithviraj Chavan will be sworn-in as Chief Minister of Maharashtra today. Governor K. Sankarnarayan will administer him the oath of office and secrecy at the Raj Bhawan in Mumbai at 4.30 P.M. Mr Ajit Pawar of the NCP will be sworn-in as Deputy Chief Minister.Mr Chavan met the Governor last night and staked claim to form a new government in the state. He was accompanied by the Deputy Chief Minister designate Ajit Pawar. Mr Chavan told media persons that he presented a letter of support of 170 MLAs to the Governor and staked claim to form the next government.
