Senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan was today sworn in as the 22nd Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He replaces Ashok Chavan who resigned following the Adarsh Society Scam. Ajit Pawar of NCP was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister at a swearing-in ceremony at the Raj Bhawan. Governor K. Sankaranarayanan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr.Chavan his deputy Ajit Pawar and others.Nine minister from the Nationalist Congress party including Chhagan Bhujbal, R R Patil, Jayant Patil, Ganesh Naik, Lakshman Dobhale, Sunil Tatkare, Jaydutt Shirsagar, Manohar Naik and Dr. Vijaykumar Gavit were also sworn in today.The announcement of portfolios is expected soon.
