Senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan will be sworn in as the next chief minister of Maharashtra today evening. He will replace Ashok Chavan who has recently resigned following the Adarsh Society Scam. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at 4.30 p.m. in which Governor K. Sankaranarayanan will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Chavan and a host of other leaders who would form the new cabinet. Newly-appointed leader of the Nationalist Congress legislature party Ajit Pawar will also be sworn along with Mr Chavan. Pawar, who is the nephew of Union Agriculture minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar, will replace senior NCP leader Chaggan Bhujbal as the deputy chief minister.
