Principal Director General, News, All India Radio, Ira Joshi, met the Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan and Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Baseer ul Haq Choudhary in Kargil today.<br />'' <br />'' Ms Joshi is on a 4-day visit to Kargil and Leh districts. She was accompanied by  Additional Director General, All India Radio/Doordarshan, Dr Shailender Kumar and Assistant Director, News, AIR Ladakh/Doordarshan, Ramesh Chander.<br />'' <br />'' During her meeting with the Chief Executive Councillor, Kargil, measures for strengthening of infrastructure and manpower of All India Radio and Doordarshan in the district, the role of AIR, Kargil in the dissemination of a variety of programmes and news in regional languages, particularly the Purgi news and other related issues came up for discussion.<br />'' <br />'' The Principal DG also held separate meetings with the Vice-Chancellor, University of Ladakh, C Phunsog besides officers and employees of All India Radio, Kargil.<br />'' <br />'' The Principal DG, News held a series of meetings in Leh district. Later, she held a meeting with 14 Corp GOC Lieutenant General Y K Joshi and discussed various issues related to the Ladakh region. She also visited AIR station and discussed news related issues.<br />'' <br />'' The Principal DG, News also held a meeting with Divisional Commissioner, Saughat Biswas and Additional District Development Commissioner, Moses Kunzang. <br />''
