Prime Minister will meet all Chief Ministers in New Delhi today to discuss various aspects relating to the restructuring of the Planning Commission. During the meeting, Mr Narendra Modi will seek views of the Chief Ministers regarding the structure, scope and role of the new body that will replace Planning Commission.
AIR correspondent reports that the government has already held detailed discussions with experts in different fields over the ways and means to bring the new body in tune with the changing times.
Meanwhile, BJP has criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her decision of not attending the Chief Ministers' meeting. Party secretary Shrikant Sharma said, Banerjee should forget political differences in matters of development, as the Prime Minister’s priority is the progress of the entire country.
