Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Kedarnath in Rudrapryag district of Uttrakhand today. Mr Modi will lay the foundation stone of different reconstruction works at the shrine during the visit. <br/><br/>Our correspondent reports that the Prime Minister's visit comes a day before the closure of the portals of the shrine for winter season. <br/><br/>Elaborate security arrangements have been made in view of his visit. Prime Minister will reach at Jolly Grant airport, Dehradun from where, he will depart for Kedarnath. <br/><br/>He will lay foundation stone for different reconstruction work including security wall near Shrine, Museum and Adi Shankracharya Samadhi at Kedarnath. <br/><br/>It may be recalled that massive destruction was caused to buildings and other facilities in Kedarnath Dham in 2013 disaster. <br/><br/>After performing Pooja and paying obeisance to Lord Shiva, Prime Minister will leave for New Delhi. The Prime Minister is also likely to address the gathering at Kedarpuri.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kedarnath today to pay obeisance. Mr Modi is scheduled to arrive at 9.30 AM at the Kedarnath which is one of the four shrines on the Chardham circuit. The portals of the shrine will be thrown open after a six month-long winter break. He is also scheduled to inaugurate a research centre at<br/><br/>Ramdev's Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar scheduled at 12 PM before<br/>returning to Delhi the same day. Yesterday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat reviewed the preparations ahead of the prime minister's visit.
