Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives at Sriharikota to witness launch of PSLV- C23 carrying 5 foreign satellites tomorrow morning

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Chennai on the way to Sriharikota. The Prime Minister arrived by a special aircraft and was received by Tamilnadu Chief Minister Ms. Jayalalithaa and Governor K.Rosaiah. Later he left for Sriharikota. He will be witnessing the launch of PSLV C23 for the first time tomorrow. The Prime Minister will stay overnight at Sriharikota where he will be meeting with scientists at the Shar Centre.

Meanwhile, final preparations for the launch of PSLV- C23 from Sathish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota is going on. The 49 hour count down of PSLV C 23 which began yesterday is progressing smoothly as per the schedule and the satellite launch vehicle has been withdrawn from the mobile service tower to the parking end. Propellant filling operations of the second stage has commenced and mandatory checks are being done to ensure a smooth departure of the launch at 9.52 am.

PSLV C 23 will be carrying five satellites from four countries. The launch will consist of a four stage separation and the Launch vehicle will inject the satellites belonging to France, Canada, Singapore and Germany just 17 minutes after lift off.

AIR correspondent reporting the event said scientists have targeted all the satellites to be into the orbit in about 18 minutes after the lift off will be the first time for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to witness the launch from Sriharikota. All the satellites are special in nature and are more inclined towards precise imaging for the intended purposes. Spot -7 from France is an optical earth observation satellite built by the Airbus defence and Space Company will form part of the constellation.

AISAT from Germany will be a monitoring system for sea traffic with special emphasis on high traffic zones and is the first DLR nano satellite. Velox from Singapore is a technology demonstrator for inhouse design of image sensor offers intersatellite radio frequecy link.

The commercial arm of ISRO, the antrix corporation has launched 35 satellites of 20 Countries including Germany,France,Japan and Switzerland.
