The 41st Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, CHOGM begins in the island capital of Port Of Spain and the issue of climate change is likely to dominate the Summit. The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has reached Trinidad to attend the Summit after a successful visit of the United States. The Commonwealth Secretary-General Kamalesh Sharma has set the mood of the summit by saying that discussions and arriving at an agreed solution is matter of survival for the frontline countries like the Maldives, Tuvalu and Kiribati. AIR correspondent covering the event in Port of Spain reports that as a rare gesture, the French President Nicolas Sarkozy will also attend chogm along with UN Secretary General Ban Ki moon as special invitee. The US President Barack Obama has expressed his inability to attend the event due to his pressing needs as home.
