Price capping of stents reduced price up to 85 pct: Govt

<span style="color: #222222;">Price capping of Coronary Stents by the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority in 2017 and 2018 has resulted in price reduction up to 85 per cent. Disclosing this in the Lok Sabha during the Question Hour today, Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh L. Mandaviya said the price fixation of coronary stents has resulted in the annual notional saving of 4,547 crore rupees to the public.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' The Minister also said that the Government fixed the ceiling prices of Orthopaedic Knee Implants for knee replacement, resulting in average price reduction of various type of Knee implant up to 69 per cent. The MRP of 20 medical devices in non-scheduled category is monitored by the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Mr Mandaviya also said that due to the intervention of the government, drugs for cancer cure has come down drastically, much to the relief of common man.</span><br />
