Prez, VP condole Pataudi's death

The President Mrs Pratibha Devisingh Patil has condoled the death of former Indian Captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi. Condoling the death of Pataudi, the Vice president Mohd. Hamid Ansari in a message has said that Pataudi's contributions to the game of cricket throughout his life as a player, captain, coach and analyst need no elaboration. He said that Pataudi embodied the quintessential gentleman of the game of cricket and promoted the game with all effort. Mr Ansari also said his absence from the game of cricket and public life is a terrible loss.<br/><br/>Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni described Tiger Pataudi a cricketing legend and his death an irreparable loss to the country especially to cricketing fraternity.<br/><br/>Union Agriculture Minister Mr Sharad Pawar has expressed shock and grief at the demise of former Indian cricket captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi. In his message, Mr Pawar has described Pataudi as an eminent cricketer, a gentleman sportsperson, and a guide and role model for a whole generation of cricketers. He said that due to the sudden death of Pataudi, cricket has suffered terrible and irreparable loss.<br/><br/>
