Prez urges youth to actively participate in democratic exercise

President Ram Nath Kovind has urged youth to actively participate in democratic exercise, use their conscience in electing right representative and encourage others to be participated in the adult franchise.<br/><br/>Addressing National Voters' Day function in New Delhi today, the President said, government's decision to celebrate Voter's Day every year is aimed at encouraging more young voters to take part in the political process.<br/><br/>Applauding the efforts of Election Commission in managing the mammoth task of election, he said, this virtue has earned it a high reputation globally.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, said, every year there is poll in some or other part of the country. He said, general election and state elections should be held simultaneously to save public money spent on holding elections.<br/><br/>Reiterating the inclusion of Divyaang Jan in electoral processes, Chief Election Commission, OP Rawat said, this year commission is focusing more on providing centre stage to Divyaang Jan in polls and empowering them .<br/><br/>This year, poll panel has come out with theme Accessible Elections to ensure active participation of Divyaang Jan in democratic exercise.<br/><br/>The President also gave away the awards on best Electoral practices to election officials for their excellent contribution in managing Electoral practices effectively.
