The President Mrs. Pratibha Patil has asked young doctors to respond positively to the call of the government to take up rural postings. At the 37th Annual convocation of All India Institute of Medical Science in New Delhi, she said,by serving in rural areas it would not only be doing a good work for the nation, but the stint will be a valuable addition to their professional experience.<br/>The President also strongly advocated use of tele medicine techniques for cheaper and effective treatment across the country. She called for strengthening the rural health infrastructure and urged the young doctors to work in these areas for better health care facilities. She expressed concern that millions of people living in villages have little access to quality health care and doctors have a great role in making this facility available to people The President said that government's ambitious National Rural Health Mission will bridge the gap in this sector in the urban and rural areas.<br/><br/>
