President Pranab Mukherjee has asked the people to take pledge on making the society free from corruption. In his message on the Vigilance awareness week, Mr. Mukherjee called for transparency, fairness, accountability and probity saying they are essential for functioning of public organisations. He said officials should act with integrity and adopt ethical values in their day to day functioning.

AIR correspondent reports that Central Vigilance Commission is observing the awareness week from 29th of this month to 3rd of next month. The move aims at promoting transparency and integrity in various central government offices and public sector organisations.
