Prez to open Karnataka's new legislature complex in Belgaum

The President of India Mr. Pranab Mukherjee is arriving to Belgaum, in Karnataka tomorrow, to inaugurate Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, the second Secretariat building built at a cost of 391 crores.

He will also address members of state legislative Assembly and Council after the inauguration.

Karnataka State Government has built the second secretariat building in Belgaum to highlight the importance of North Karnataka in its development schemes.

The President will also present Jnanapeth Award to renowned Kannada folk writer, poet, dramatist and music composer Mr.Chandrashekhar Kambar.

He is the eighth recipient of the coveted National award for Kannada language. After laying the foundation stone for a Vivekananda Bhavan in Belgaum, the president will leave for New Delhi.

Speaker of State legislative Assembly K G Boppaiah informed that the Secretariat building, which is the replica of the one in Bangalore, has advanced facilities, comprising of Central hall, conference halls, banquet hall and 38 chambers for the ministers.
