President Ram Nath Kovind will embark on a four day visit of Djibouti and Ethiopia from 3rd of next month. This is his first overseas visit after assuming the office.<br/><br/>The President will visit Djibouti from 3rd to 4th October. This will be the first ever visit at the level of Head of State or Government from India to Djibouti since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. President will hold official talks with his Djibouti counterpart Ismail Omar Guelleh. <br/><br/>Contemporary bilateral relations with Djibouti are marked by mutual respect and understanding on various bilateral, regional and multilateral issues. India has extended lines of credit amounting to 49.13 million dollar to Djibouti for construction of a cement plant.<br/><br/>Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, Joint Secretary in the External Affairs Ministry Neena Malhotra said, President will be in Ethiopia from 4th to 6th October. It will be the first visit by an Indian President to Ethiopia after almost 45 years. She said, during the visit President will hold talks with his counterpart Dr. Malatu Teshome and attend a business event. Mr. Kovind will interact with Indian community there. <br/><br/>He will deliver a lecture in the University of Addis Ababa. India is amongst the top trade, investment and development partner of Ethiopia. <br/><br/>Ethiopia is also the largest recipient of India's concessional Lines of Credit in Africa and it has received one billion dollar concession for sugar projects.
