The President Mr Pranab Mukherjee will confer the Shilp Guru Award and Sant Kabir Award for the year 2009 and 2010 to twenty Handicrafts Artisans and eighteen Master weavers at a function in New Delhi tomorrow. Besides this, the President will also present a total of seventy four National Awards to master craftspersons and weavers. According to the relese issued by the Minsitry of Textiles, the Shilp Guru Award is conferred to master craftspersons of Handicrafts who have contirbuted to the resurgence of handicrafts sector.The Sant Kabir award is conferred on such outstanding weavers who have made valuable contribution in handloom sector.
