Prez stresses on timely availability of medical services in rural areas

President Mrs Pratibha Devisingh Patil has called upon doctors to serve willingly in the rural areas. Inaugurating a new cancer hospital and research institute at Amravati in Maharashtra on Thursday, the President stressed upon the need for timely availability of medical services in the rural areas especially to women and children.<br/><br/>On the second day of her three day tour to Amravati, President Pratibha Devisingh Patil has said that there is a need for creating more awareness about the ill effects of consumption of tobacco and drugs and that people especially the younger generation should not fall pray to this social evil. The President also urged the medical professionals to ensure availability of medical services to all people at affordable rate. <br/><br/>Earlier, addressing another function in the city, the President called upon the corporate sector to join hands with the farming community to help increase farm productivity.
