President Ram Nath Kovind has said there are big opportunities in food processing sector and it has high potential to give employment to people. <br/><br/>Addressing the valedictory session of World Food India event in New Delhi today, he said in rural areas women can emerge as entrepreneur and empower themselves by enhancing their family income. <br/><br/>He said food connects the world and it is both culture as well as commerce. The President said, at present India's food sector accounts for over three hundred billion dollar which will go upto one trillion by 2025. <br/><br/>Expressing concern over the food wastage, Mr. Kovind called for making efforts to reduce it in a time bound manner. '<br/><br/>Earlier, Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal said 50 MoUs worth 11.25 billion dollar were signed during the three day event. She said India will become global food factory when it controls food wastage and increases the yield. She said, zero tolerance to food wastage is a must in the country.
