Prez says, he & PM acted in close co-operation; Mr. Modi says, Pranabda guided him like father figure

President Pranab Mukherjee has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he himself have acted in close cooperation over the last three years since NDA came to power. He said this at a book release function organised at Rastrapati Bhawan this evening. <br/><br/>The Book titled- "President Pranab Mukherjee- A Statesman" was released by Mr Modi. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mukherjee said, if there were some divergent views, it is limited to only them and it did not affect the relationship between the President and Prime Minister. Mr Mukherjee said, the functioning of the government was never affected and never stopped during the period.<br/> '<br/>Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said, Mr Mukherjee guided him as a father figure. Mr Modi said, he will never forget that period when he came to Delhi and he had a person like Mr Mukherjee to guide him. Mr Modi said, his Presidency is much more than protocol. Mr Modi also said, people can preserve aspects of the country's history much better. He said, people can be more history conscious as a society. He said, technology is giving a boost to creativity.<br/> <br/>Our correspondent reports that the book has been published by the newspaper -The Statesman. The book, a comprehensive photographic record of India's 13th President, covers Mr Mukherjee's Presidency and documents his various roles including those as a humane first citizen.<br/><br/> Mr Mukherjee who received the first copy of the book, appreciated the wonderful photos taken by Varun Joshi from The Statesman that feature in the photo essay. Senior BJP leader L K Advani and Union Ministers including Finance Minister Arun Jaitley were present on the occasion.
