Samajwadi party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav has said his party will decide on a presidential candidate once the names of nominees are officially announced.

Addressing newspersons in New Delhi today, Mr Yadav opined the presidential candidate should have a political background.

Mr Yadav favoured the recommendations made by the Sachar Committee for giving reservation to Muslims.

He said, it is important to implement the recommendations to ensure socio-economic development of the community.
