Prez, PM greet people of Tajikistan on their Independence Day

President Pranab Mukherjee has greeted people of Tajikistan on their Independence Day today. In his message to President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, Mr Mukherjee said, India and Tajikistan have traditionally enjoyed close and friendly relations and both countries have forged strong bilateral relations based on the shared history and the larger vision of peace and prosperity in the common region. The President said, the recent State Visit of Prime Minister of India to Tajikistan in July this year is a manifestation of India's desire to further deepen the Strategic Partnership with Tajikistan. He said, early implementation of decisions taken during the visit will add new dynamism to the relationship and open up new avenues of cooperation for the common benefit of the people of both countries.<br/><br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted people of Tajikistan on their Independence Day. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, India shares deep historical and cultural links with Tajikistan. He said, India and Tajikistan are actively working to further strengthen their ties in agriculture, connectivity, trade and defence.
