President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have congratulated the sports persons, who won laurels for the country in the recently concluded 2014 Commonwealth Games. In his message Mr Mukherjee said these games have proved as a powerful bridge bringing together people and athletes from various nations. He said Indian sports persons have undoubtedly shown commendable determination, grit and ambition for achievement, and this was instrumental in their success. In his message, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the performance of Indian athletes in the Games has made the country proud.
