President Pratibha Devisingh Patil will be visiting Laos and Cambodia on a state visit from tomorrow. A delegation including Minister of state for Tribal Affairs Kantilal Bhuria and 3 Parliament Members besides officials and business representatives will accompany the president. Secretary East External Affairs Ministry Latha Reddy told reporters that besides official talks, the President will be holding high level discussions with Laos and Cambodian counterparts. A few agreements are likely to be signed during her trip. The President will visit Vientiane and Luang Prabang during her 5-day visit to Laos and Phnom Penh and also Siem Reap in Cambodia.India will be holding special ASEAN meeting in 2012 as part of its pursuit for closer and continuing partnership with ASEAN countries. Secretary East in External Affairs Ministry Latha Reddy told reporters today in Delhi. She said the President’s upcoming state visit to Laos and Cambodia will further strengthen the relations with ASEAN countries. An ASEAN-India Business summit will be held in the month of March next year.
