President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil met the children who won the National Bravery Awards-2011 at a function at Rastrapati Bhawan on Thursday evening. Twentyfour children from 15 states have been awarded National Bravery Awards this year including five children awarded posthumously.

Mrs. Patil also met the father of five children who were awarded posthumously. The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh gave awards to these children on 23rd of this month. The Awardees received a medal, certificate and cash. All the awardees will participate in tomorrow's Republic Day Parade. The awardees will be granted financial assistance until they complete their school education under a sponsorship programme of Indian Council for Child Welfare.
