President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil on Wednesday called for proper regulatory mechanism, accounting procedure and transparency to fight corruption. Mrs. Patil was addressing a function in New Delhi after unveiling the statue of late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The President who also inaugurated a new building of Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, said business must develop linkages both backward and forward with various sectors of the economy. She said this will help the corporate world as it must reach out to the rural economy. Referring to farming community, she said that production, financing and marketing possibilities of rural India urgently require new innovative approaches, new tools of analysis and new solutions. On this occasion, Delhi Chief Minister Mrs. Sheila Dikshit also present. The Chairman of Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management and son of former Prime Minister Mr. Anil Shastri said that Lal Bahadur Shastri's slogan Jai Jawan Jai Kisan is relevant even today and resonates across the length and breadth of our country.
