President Prathibha Devisigh Patil arrived in Hyderabad a short while ago, on her southern sojourn. The President has been accorded a warm welcome at the Begumpet airport in Hyderabad when she arrived by a special aircraft from Mumbai. Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Hyderabad Mayor Karthika Reddy, several state Ministers and leaders from political parties attended the ceremonial programme. The President will be staying at Rashtrapathi Nilayam, at Bollaram on the outskirts of Hyderabad during her sojourn till the end of this month. Elaborate security arrangements have been made at Rastrapathi Nilayam on the occasion. It has been a customary practice for the President to have southern sojourn during December every year. During her stay, the President’s office will be functioning from Hyderabad.
