‘Prez Obama wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

US President, Barack Obama has won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Committee said he was awarded it for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and co-operation between peoples.<br/><br/>There were a record 205 nominations for this year's prize. The laureate – chosen by a five-member committee – wins a gold medal, a diploma and 10 million Swedish kronor. <br/><br/>There are positive reactions coming in from Middle East on Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the US president Barrack Obama. Reacting to the decision, Iran said that it should prompt him to start working towards ending injustice in the world. The media aide to Iranian president Ali Akbar Javanfekr told a news agency that they are not upset and hope that by receiving this prize he will start taking practical steps to remove injustice in the world.<br/><br/>Palestinian group, Hamas spokesperson Ahamad Yousef has said that President Obama has changed whole perception about USA with his good intention but much more is needed to be done.<br/><br/>Israeli President Shimon Peres has said there are few leaders who have managed to change the atmosphere in the world in such a short time. He expressed the confidence that the bells of understanding and dialogue between the nations will start ringing again.
