President Pranab Mukherjee, today called upon historians and research scholars to take up studies with utmost precision and scientific base. <br/><br/>Mr. Mukherjee asked Indian historians to consider all aspects of history, rather than only political history, and emphasize the integrative factors in the past for objectivity in historical studies. The President was inaugurating the 77th annual conference of the Indian History Congress in Thiruvananthapuram today.<br/> <br/>Governor Justice P. Sathasivam, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala, Ministers C. Ravindranath, Kadakampally Surendran, Mayor V.K. Prasanth and other dignitaries attended the programme held at the Karyavattom campus of the Kerala University. Over 3,000 historians and research scholars are attending the History Congress.<br/><br/>Earlier, the President was accorded a ceremonial reception at the airport when he arrived in Thiruvananthapuram by a special IAF aircraft on a day's visit.
