President Pranab Mukherjee today gave away the National Children Awards for exceptional achievement, child Welfare and the Rajiv Gandhi Manav Seva Award. The winners were honoured by the President at a funtion held at the Darbar Hall in Rastrapati Bhavan. Harsh bandhey, Kanchi Sri Kaarunya and Akash Deep Kalita were among the 16 children awarded with the National Child Award for exceptional achivement in various fields. The National awards for Child Welfare were given to five Institutions including the Salaam Balak Trust and three individuals, S. Murugan, Vanramchhuangi and Vinayayak Lohani. R. Ravi Kumar, Swami Japananda and Thungdemo Kikon were the winners of the Rajiv Gandhi Manav Seva Awards.
