President Pratibha Devisingh Patil has called for ways of delivering healthcare more efficiently, effectively and equitably. She also asked the academics and researchers to discover new solutions and ensure rapid translation of discoveries to products to prevent disease and save lives.She said there should also be exchange of experiences and best practices between countries and stakeholders. The President was speaking at the inaugural function of a three-day international conclave on Partnership Forum, Innovation and Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child health in New Delhi today.She said efforts to push for growth are accompanied by efforts to ensure that the fruits of growth reach across the society. She said the main objective of country's ambitious socio-economic development programmes is to have inclusive growth.She expressed her happiness that country is making all out efforts to ensure each citizen in the country has access to good quality health services. The President underlined the need for providing education to people saying that it would be main driver for achieving success in the health sector.Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said multiple set of factors such as poverty, low social development, weak health system, non-availability of required health personnel, poor infrastructure are some of the challenges that need to be address urgently by making substantial investments, both human and financial. Azad said his ministry has identified 250 backward and inaccessible districts where micro plans have been prepared to address critical gaps of infrastructure.Over 50 countries are participating in the conclave.
