Prez for appropriate conducive atmosphere to tackle complex India, Pak issues

President Pranab Mukherjee has emphasized the need for an appropriate conducive atmosphere to tackle the more complex and difficult issues between India and Pakistan. In a meeting with a Parliamentary delegation of Pakistan in New Delhi yesterday he said terrorism is the biggest threat to peace and tranquility for both the countries and action should be taken before it become unmanageable. He also stressed the need for more people-to-people contacts between both the countries to strengthen the constituency of peace. Mukherjee said elected representatives of the two countries have an important role to play in efforts to build good neighbourly ties.

Welcoming the efforts of Islamabad to achieve full normalization of trade by the end of the year, the President said India desires friendly and cooperative relations with Pakistan.
