President Pranab Mukherjee has congratulated shooter Vijay Kumar for winning a silver medal in the 25-m rapid-fire pistol event of the Olympic Games in London.

A Rashtrapati Bhawan official quoted the President as saying that by getting the second medal at the Olympics, Kumar has made the country proud. He was referring to the bronze medal that Gagan Narang had won in the 10-m rifle event.
