The President today called upon exporters to maintain high quality of their products. Mr Pranab Mukherjee said quality consciousness, service delivery and complete transparency are the keys to form a good image of a country. Addressing the gathering after giving away 13th Niryat Shree and Niryat Bandhu awards of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations, FIEO in New Delhi, Mr Mukherjee expressed confidence that India's Economic growth rate will bounce back again as its foundation is strong.
On the occasion, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said that despite challanges like eurozone crisis and spiraling cost of petrolium products , the current projection of export is expected to be 3.5 per cent. He said the country was still able to export worth 306 billion US Dollars. The Minister said that UPA government's strategy is based on values and FDI in multi brand will create infrastructure and jobs in rural areas of the country. It will also give relief to consumers.
Earlier, the President gave away the Niryat Shree and the Niryat Bandhu Awards in 12 categories to exporters and institutions for achieving outstanding performance in export goods and services. These categories include higher foreign exchange earner, agriculture and plantation products, gems and jewellery and handicrafts.
