The President Dr. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil has called upon the corporate sector to explore ways and initiatives to join hands with farming communities to increase agri-productivity. <br/> <br/>Speaking at the 111th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. Panjab Rao Deshmukh in Amravati Maharashtra, the President stressed upon the need for education of children of farmers in general and more specifically girl child in the rural areas. <br/> <br/>Highlighting the thoughts of Deshmukh the president said that this thought on agri-economy is still relevant to this day. <br/> <br/>The President also called upon the farmers to adopt new methods to increase farm productivities and thereby raise the standard of living.<br/>
