The President, Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil today awarded degrees to the students of Mizoram University during its sixth convocation. In her address to the gathering, the President said the universities are the institutions for teaching public good and public welfare. She said that a successful life is largely a matter of discipline. She said the youth are eager contributors to the overall and sustainable development of the country. She said education without community’s participation is incomplete in today’s world. She emphasised that education improves the quality of people’s lives and benefits the society in a broader way. The Governor of Mizoram, the Chief Minister and several other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. The President left for Tripura after completing her a day-long visit to Aizawl
