President Mrs Prathibha Devisingh Patil arrived in Lakshadweep this afternoon on a three day visit to the Union Territory. She was received at the Agatti Airport by the Lakshadweep Administrator Mr J K Dadoo and members of the District and Village Panchayats among others.<br/> <br/>The President will launch the State Wide Area Network project established under the National e-Governance Plan at Kavaratti. The 15 crore rupee project will provide high bandwidth connectivity linking nearly 420 government offices spread over the ten inhabited islands in Lakshadweep.<br/> <br/>The project will also provide video conferencing facility to all sub divisional offices, to be utilised for redressal of public grievances and monitoring development works.<br/><br/><br/>
